Description
Designers in the 1920s often looked to the East for inspiration for textile and wallpaper design, this pattern in particular by F.W. Grafton & Co. depicts a romantic view of a Chinese landscape. Filled with layering and detail, paddling mandarin ducks swim amongst stylised trees and flowers in an Art Deco style, but with a nod to more traditional chinoiserie art.
