The distance from the batteries to the first bulb is 0.3 meters. Directions for use: Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure the safe and satisfactory use of this product. Requires two 1.5V AA / LR6 batteries (batteries included). Insert batteries before first use. Operate lights by switching the ON/OFF switch to the ON position and back to OFF to turn lights OFF. To replace batteries, make sure the switch is in the OFF position. Remove the retaining screw with an appropriate screwdriver (not supplied), and open the battery cover. Remove the old batteries and dispose of them safely. Insert new batteries into the compartment, ensuring the '+' positive pole of batteries is placed with the corresponding symbol. Batteries must be inserted with the correct polarity. Replace the battery compartment cover and screw it back in place. This product contains LED lights, and although non-replaceable, these are highly energy efficient and have a greater lifespan than that ordinary filament bulbs. Take care when positioning lights in your desired location for indoor use only.
