Description
In a small Bavarian washroom in 1924, Adolf adi Dassler founded what became one of the world's most recognisable and admired sportswear brands: adidas. Today, the brand is known for its commitment to high-quality craftsmanship, a rich design archive that it frequently recontextualises, and innovative designs that reference the past while looking to the future. The Mexicana Prototype Shoes - part of the label's acclaimed Originals line- is one example of this winning ethos, adroitly constructed in premium suede atop traditional rubber soles. Based upon an unreleased archival Mexicana mock-up from the 1960s, this contemporary reimagining celebrates adidas' heritage and development process. Cut in a low-top style, this striking pair features almond toes, lace fastenings, synthetic linings for comfort, flat soles, and discreet tone-on-tone stitching. The bold two-tone colourway provides an exceptional foundation to style this pair into any ensemble, and no adidas design would be complete without the iconic 3-Stripes motif adorning the outsteps. The tongues showcase an unfinished trefoil logo in a loving homage to the brand's legacy. Finally, the adidas logo printed on the sides ensures a high-end finish.
