Boasting a high spring count, the Tranquillity 13000 mattress features a combination of pocket springs and natural fillings and offers a choice of a softer or firmer support. Fully upholstered in a 100 Viscose fabric, it benefits from a hand tufted finish, a traditional process that ensures its deep layers of natural fillings stay securely in place. The mattress features 4 times the number of fillings found in other pocket spring models with only the finest natural fillings such as wool, cotton, cashmere and silk used. The interior is supplied by Agro, Europes biggest provider of springs and consists of a core of standard pocket springs, with several layers of mini tablet springs on each side. Mini tablet springs are designed to instantly compress when pressure is applied, while providing the feeling of weightlessness. Tablet springs also help to reduce upholstery settlement. Housed in their own cloth sleeve and totally independent of any surrounding springs, the combination of tablet and traditional pocket springs offers piston-like support to each part of the body. A labour intensive and intricate process of side-stitching is performed by experienced craftsmen and applied to the mattress border using a long upholstery needle and high-tension twine. Only applied to top-end mattresses, the side-stitching procedure strengthens the mattress border and prevents it from bowing out over time and increases the sleeping area by 20. Unlike normal bases, the Athena divan features a strong and sturdy reinforced structure and ball-bearing style metal drawer runners as standard. Please note: Headboard is not included.
