Pereira is a city in the mountainous area on the Otún river valley. Along with other cities, Pereira is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "Coffee Cultural Landscape of Colombia".This coffee is decaffeinated using the sugarcane method. A by-product from sugarcane juice fermentation is used to pull caffeine out from the washed process coffee.
