Description
This reliable and easy grow variety will add a splash of colour to any garden with bright scarlet and dazzling white petals. When planted together they will create a stunning drift of colour that will spread year after year. Also great for attracting pollinating insects, ideal for woodland gardens or herbaceous borders. Pot up aquilegia plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. Grow aquilegias in sun or part shade in any fertile, moist, well-drained soil. Columbines hybridize readily. If seedlings are not wanted, deadhead faded aquilegia flowers to prevent them self-seeding. Aquilegias dislike disturbance but overcrowded clumps may be lifted and divided in spring when necessary. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
