The Arc'teryx Men's Vertex Alpine GORE-TEX shoe combines the stability of an approach model with the fit and performance of a trail running style. The Cordura upper is light and supple; a GORE-TEX ePE waterproof membrane allows all-weather exploration. A knit collar gives a sock-like fit and keeps debris out. There's a pocket on the tongue where you can stash excess lace to avoid snagging. Pull tabs on the tongue and heel double as carabiner loops, making it easy to clip your shoes to a pack or harness. The cushioned midsole uses an EVA and polyolefin blend that offers increased abrasion resistance. There's an integrated midsole shank that boosts stiffness and protects against sharp rocks. Finished with Vibram's XS Flash 2 outsole, the durable and grippy rubber compound pairs with a climb-specific tread pattern that improves edging and traction to inspire confidence as you ascend.
