Born in Darlington in 1977, James studied fine art at Nottingham Trent University. James works predominantly in acrylic and oils, inspired by famous icons, everyday objects and adverts. It is this fascinating juxtaposition of fine art craftsmanship and nostalgic, pulp imagery that makes James' work thoroughly contemporary despite giving a huge nod to the past.
