French ceramic decorative bowl by the Frres Cloutier (circa 1970s). A charming decorative bowl created in the trademark pink colour of the Cloutiers. It is immediately identifiable as theirs. At the bowl base a still life with flowers motif. With its subtle hues & French charm it may be placed anywhere in your home or workplace. It is in very good overall condition. Please note the diminutive size of the piece. Maker's mark on the underside. About the Designers: Jean & Robert Cloutier are called the twin brothers of ceramics. After having apprenticed for Lafourcade, Rivire, Georges Jouve & Pol Chambost, the brothers created their own workshop located in Paris in 1955. They produced both functional & dreamlike decorative objects. After Paris & a brief interlude in the town of Yonne, France, the Cloutiers put down roots in the Languedoc region of southern France. Forever refining their ceramic processes, they are considered to have perfectly mastered their profession & are held in the highest esteem.
