This unique 28cm low walled cast iron casserole dish with lid is a hardwearing and ultra-durable classic kitchen essential that is perfect for braising, simmering, roasting, broiling, and baking. This cast iron casserole dish features an enamel coating that allows for the easy release of foods. This low set cast iron casserole dish is like all Blackmoor pots and pans in the fact that it is suitable to be used on all hob types, such as gas, electric, and induction hobs, as well as on hot plates, and the hardwearing nature of the dish allows it to be placed in ovens up to 260°c, without compromising its quality. The enamel coating on the casserole pot also makes it resistant to acidic and alkaline foods, which allows for the marination of foods in the dish, and gives you the ability to store it in the fridge before cooking. The casserole dish features two easy grip handles either side of the pot that provides a comfortable and quick way to take the pan in and out of the oven. Please note that the handles will become very warm when used in the oven, so when removing the dish always use heat resistant oven gloves to protect yourself. The low casserole dish also comes complete with a lid. The lid itself has a stainless steel knob, but just like the handles, becomes hot if used in the oven, so again please remove with the appropriate protection. This cast iron low casserole dish measures 28cm in diameter, and the 2.5L volume capacity is spread out over a longer surface thanks to the shallow nature of the pot, which ultimately makes this the best pot for browning meats and vegetables, and even baking delicious sweet or savoury pies. The casserole dish comes in a classic black colour, that will be suitable to be used in any style of kitchen. When it comes to the maintenance of the casserole pot it is to be cleaned by hand wash only, and needs to be washed in hot soapy water before the first use, and then after every subsequent use once the pan has cooled down.
