This traditional 22cm cast iron casserole dish is a hardwearing and robust kitchen essential that will be perfect for braising, simmering, roasting, broiling, and baking a wide variety of meals in your kitchen. The casserole dish itself is able to withstand direct heat, and then redistributes this heat around the cooking surface, ensuring the perfect cooking conditions for many a meal. The interior of the casserole dish features an enamel coating that allows for the quick and easy release of foods. This cast iron casserole dish with lid is like all other Blackmoor pots and pans in the sense that it can be used on all hob types such as gas, electric, induction, and even hot plates too. The added beauty of the cast iron cookpot is that it can also be used in the oven, and can withstand temperatures of up to 260°C. The enamel coating inside the dish also makes the pot resistant to acidic and alkaline foods, which enables you to marinade your meats before cooking, and allows you to place them in the fridge until the time comes that you need them for cooking. The casserole dish comes complete with two easy grip handles either side of the pot. The casserole dish also features a lid with a stainless steel knob that is easy to lift on and off during the cooking process, and will allow for the flavours and heat to be kept inside the pot at all times when cooking. Please note that if you place the casserole dish in the oven when cooking then both the handles and knob of the lid will become extremely hot, and we therefore advise that you wear appropriate protective oven gloves when removing the hot dish. The casserole dish measures 22cm in diameter, has a 2.5L volume capacity, comes in a classic grey colour. The casserole pot it is hand wash only, and needs to be cleaned in hot soapy water before the first use, and then after every subsequent use once the pan has cooled down.
