Description
BMC Roadmachine FOUR Rival AXS Disc Road Bike A fun and effective combination of SRAM components and a BMC frameset, the Roadmachine FOUR Rival AXS Disc Road Bike is for riders who want to take on long, arduous rides in comfort without sacrificing speed and performance. The frame uses BMC’s Tuned Compliance Concept Endurance carbon layup to carefully marry together the requirements of comfort and performance, ensuring that the frame is compliant enough for rough tarmac and sufficiently stiff to transfer all power efficiently to the rear wheel. At the front end, the Integrated Cockpit System (ICS) has a neat reverse front plate stem and ergonomic handlebar whilst at the back, the D-shaped carbon seatpost adds further compliance to the ride. Cables are routed internal once they reach the frame to keep them out of harm’s way and to help reduce drag. Effortless and electronic, SRAM’s Rival eTap AXS groupset provides perfect shifts with just a light press of the lever. The system is fully wireless so there are no cables to stretch or become dirty, so every shift is as good as the first and very little maintenance is required. Connection to a compatible GPS device via Bluetooth allows battery levels and gear selections to be shown, and SRAM’s AXS smartphone app gives the potential to customise certain shifting functions. X-Range gearing uses smaller chainrings in conjunction with a 10-tooth rear sprocket to give a wide range of gears but makes it easier to maintain optimal cadence by reducing the jumps between ratios. BMC’s own-brand XR-522 wheels are tubeless-ready, so can be set up to benefit from lower rolling resistance, more grip and comfort as well as fewer punctures. Furthermore, at just 25mm deep handling will always be assured and confidence-inspiring whatever the weather and wind direction.
