Rotating weight is your enemy (well one of them anyway!) so every gram you can shave off makes a difference. Over the years it has been alleged that a single gram saved on something that turns is equal to three grams on a static component, so weight saving in something as mundane as the humble inner tube is nothing to be sniffed at. Bontrager managed to produce a high-quality product that addresses this issue by reducing the wall thickness to 0.6mm yet preserve a reasonable resistance to puncture. The 80mm valve extension on this model is ideal for rims up to 50mm in depth.
