In the base of the bowl is a vent which along with the adjustable damper in the chimney. You can use the vent and the damper to control the fire intensity. The fireplace has a small door provided at the base of the bowl, which you can use for removing ash. The fireplace supplied with full instructions for assembly comes with a fire grid and poker.
