Initially grown for their fruit and harvested over a number of years, the trees are then cut down and used to make these mango wood chopping boards, among other pieces. This process enables the farmers to plant more trees to harvest for fruit, as well as providing them with a supplementary income. To nourish the wood rub an edible oil, such as olive oil, into the surface with a cloth. Adding oil may darken the tone of the wood.
