We use 2.5microns of gold plating over sterling silver (recycled here) in every single gold piece. That’s five times thicker plating than normal gold-plated jewellery. To ensure these are pieces you will wear forever, I offer a re-plating service if you need it in the future.♢ I’m sure that a circular economy is the way forward in jewellery manufacture. That’s why certified recycled silver is used in all of the pieces customers can buy. It cuts down CO2 emissions by 2/3rds of mined silver. ♢ The majority of our silver is bought in Thailand and comes from previously owned jewellery, industry or electronics components. It is refined and purified before being recast and the parts of this process are certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council and London Bullion Market Association. A selection of our chains are made in the UK with recycled silver.♢ Recycled silver has its own hallmark and of course, it’s slightly more expensive to use. I believe it’s more than worth it. Look out for my ‘buy back silver’ scheme which I will be launching.♡ RESPONSIBLY HANDMADE♢ I’m committed to working with long-term partners in Thailand who guarantee that all materials including chains, findings and gemstones come from the most ethical sources.♢
Both factories are experts in handmade jewellery and are committed to fair working practices for their employees including fair living wages, paid holidays, pensions, childcare, no child labour.♢ The factories are audited and one is a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council. ♢ A selection of my chains are made in the UK by a leading family-run business who have been producing for more than 40 years.
