Description
Coral pendant lamp in bamboo - natural look, made in New Zealand The Coral pendant lamp consists of numerous individual bamboo veneer elements which, when put together, create a wonderful lampshade. The delivery is made in single parts, a detailed assembly instruction is enclosed. This is done deliberately with regard to small transport dimensions in flat packs, which only make up 3 % of the volume of the assembled light. In this way, the ecological footprint is deliberately kept small. David Trubridge, the designer of this beautiful piece, was originally a shipbuilder. In 1981, he sold all his possessions, bought a sailing yacht and travelled with his family through the Caribbean to the Pacific Ocean to New Zealand. Inspired by his experiences and encounters on his travels, he began designing furniture. His objects express his way of looking at nature and his search for original materials that reflect the simplicity of human existence. In 2001, David Trubridge presented the Body Raft rocking lounger at the Milan fashion fair, for which the Cappellini design studio secured the design, thus helping David Trubridge to achieve his breakthrough. Today, Trubridge lives in New Zealand and runs his own design studio. In addition, as one of the most important representatives of eco-design and slow design, he has been lecturing worldwide since 2006 and teaches as a visiting professor at universities. The Coral pendant luminaire is excellently suited for ambient and area lighting. As the bulb used remains visible through the openings in the lampshade, we recommend using a filament bulb, for example, to further enhance the decorative appeal. Suitable bulbs can be purchased via the accessories. The bamboo plywood used is a secondary product from cotton plantations, it is peeled from the trunk with knives so that there is little waste. The plywood is glued with formaldehyde-free glue.
