Desiree is a very popular variety due to its versatility and simply delicious with the creamy-yellow flesh that contrasts against the red skin. This great all-round early maincrop variety is great for jacket and roast potatoes, chips, wedges or marsh, and perfect for Dauphinoise potatoes. It is a heavy cropper and easy to grow with good blight and scab resistance. Plant it between March and May once the harshest frosts have passed, and expect to harvest in July-Sept. Supplied as a 2.5kg bag of seed potatoes (approximately 30-35 tubers) ready for chitting or for storing until planting out in the spring.
