Its generous layers of fillings are hypo-allergenic and have a high level of antimicrobial and dust mite resistance, resulting in an ideal sleeping surface for allergy sufferers or asthmatics. At the core of the mattress is a robust and durable 12.5 gauge open coil spring system, also known as a Bonnell unit and one of the firmest wires used in mattress manufacturing in the UK today. The open coil spring system is made up of rows of hourglass shaped springs connected at the top and bottom by a spiral wire, known as a helical wire. A thick perimeter rod-edge wire adds support and prevents border breakdown. Although the mattress is one-sided, it still requires to be rotated from head to toe on a regular basis. This process will even out the wear and tear on the mattress and also enhance its lifespan.
