The House of Bruar Early Evening Roe by Alistair Makinson
Description
Medium: Oil on Canvas
Dimensions: H52cm x W42cm (framed), H39cm x W28.5cm (unframed)
About the Artist:
Now based in the Ribble Valley, Alistair Mackinson was born in 1961 in the rural village of Whalley in Lancashire. In his early days he anticipated a career in agriculture, and was selling animal health products and farming equipment when he broke his elbow in an accident and discovered a natural talent for painting during his convalescence.
Such was the success of his early work that within a year he turned to painting full-time in 1991, producing highly evocative works which reflected the landscapes around him in his native Lancashire. Since then sporting paintings have become his subject of choice, as he finds them more challenging and rewarding.
After a series of successful one-man shows and exhibitions in some of the country's leading galleries, Makinson's status as one of the UK's leading sporting artists has been firmly secured, and his list of clients includes The Duke of Sutherland, The Duke of Westminster and the Duke of Bedford.
