Easter Arum Lily - Zantedeschia Aethiopica 12cm Pot
Description
Easter Arum Lily - Zantedeschia Aethiopica 12cm Pot This pure white form of Calla lily (also sometimes called the Arum Lily) is most highly prized for its crisp, pure white flowers which are produced in succession from late spring. Newly formed blooms have a greenish tint to them before opening up magically to reveal their pristine funnel-shaped spathes of bloom. A real showstopper! Despite its popularity, its rarely offered as a plant for sale online, so now is your chance to get one of these beauties for yourself and you'll be rewarded with tremendous displays of ice-white flowers that last for 5-6 weeks and appear again year after year. A semi-evergreen perennial, the White Arum has long-stalked, erect leaves which are arrow-shaped and glossy green. Growing up to 40cm in length, they're an architectural feature in their own right and compliment perfectly the white trumpets, each sporting a distinct yellow spadix (the central spike). Although essentially a marginal pond plant, Zantedeschia can easily be treated as a perennial if given a thick mulch over winter to protect its underground rhizomes and will eventually develop into a striking clump. If you prefer, this is a great plant for a large container, which can be moved undercover out of the worst of the winter cold. Awarded the sought-after RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that Zantedeschia aethiopica has been trialled to ensure that it performs reliably in UK gardens. Note plants are dormant October - March so may show no leaves in the pot.
