Description
Rugged rope accessory cord from Edelrid, with a durable Pro Dry finish The Guide Assist a super-dependable accessory cord with a dynamic safety reserve ideal for supporting and belaying a second climber in exposed areas and traversing glaciers. The big advantage to the Guide Assist its epic low water absorption, thanks to the supreme Pro Dry treatment. Whereas untreated ropes can absorb up to 50 of their weight in water, becoming extremely heavy, difficult to handle and even freezing in cold conditions, Pro Dry ropes are quick drying, absorb virtually no water and are resistant to freezing. Due to their minimal water absorption 12 according to the UIAA water-repellent test, Pro Dry ropes hardly increase in weight, making them ideal for activities where ropes are more likely to get wet, such as ice climbing or mountaineering. Thanks to Edelrids mega 3D Lap Coiling technique, you dont need to uncoil this cord for the first time. Yep, just pull it out and off you go. The marking on the rope, together with a detailed description on the packaging, ensures you do things right and can use the full potential of the Guide Assist Pro Dry without annoying twisting and tangling. The mega Edelrid suppleness there thanks to the smart Thermo Shield technology, which a treatment involving a thermal process that perfectly aligns the core and sheath yarns. A special heat treatment relaxes and then shrinks the ropes fibres, which harmonises the gliding characteristics of the yarns inside the rope, making it supple and compact. The result the creation of ropes that will neither shrink retrospectively nor quickly become stiff.Caution this not suitable for use as a single rope or for belaying a lead climber.
