These systems are designed to extract stale, moist air from "wet rooms" (such as kitchens and bathrooms) and replace it with fresh air from outside. They work by extracting air through ducting from the wet rooms and expelling it outside through a central ventilation unit. This creates a negative pressure within the house, which draws in fresh air through trickle vents or passive vents elsewhere in the property.. The MEV range uses DC motors, which makes them extremely energy-efficient, as they consume up to 90% less energy than traditional AC motors.
