A grand French sterling silver napkin ring in the Empire style. The piece features acanthus wreaths, flowers, & ribbons. The sides & back have precise panels with floral work & more acanthus leaves. It bears the punch of silversmith Louis Coignet (Active 1893-1928). Also it is marked with the Minerve 1st Titre Mark for .950 silver. Beautiful & heavy, it is ready to add to your collection. If you have not collected antique napkin rings, this one would be a fine example to start your collection. Collecting French napkin rings can be done over time & with beautiful results. The French style is more generous in size than their English or American counterparts. Grand in size & usually grand in design.
