This is a fantastic graphic 'Fat Lava' Steuler Keramik vase '4222/1', West Germany circa 1960s / 70s. A great piece of West German art pottery from one of the lesser known makers. A simple tapered form with a matte black crusty glaze & colourful geometric motifs, so reminiscent of the era & of Pop Art & Space Age styles. A great addition to any collection of West German, Fat Lava or European pottery, & would complement any retro, vintage, 1960s, 1970s, midcentury, modernist, brutalist, minimalist or contemporary interior. in great condition, the glaze inside the rim has a hairline to it, not on the exterior & doesn't detract on display.
