A beautiful & very rare vintage teak dressing table with glass insert top & large vanity mirror by Kandya, one of Britain's leading 20th Century, quality furniture manufacturers. Kandya was one of the first British furniture companies to enter the post-war years employing the cream of British designers, paving the way for Britain's Modernist design wave - Carl Jacobs & Frank Guille being the most prominent & possibly one of the designers of this piece. The dressing table design fuses the warmth of pre-Modernist soft, oak/light teak tones & the 1950's sharp design of the glass top & mirrors. Despite being 70 years old, this high quality piece of Mid Century furniture is in excellent condition, having been professionally refinished. The warm, flecked teak grain has been coated with a clear, durable lacquer to ensure it will be a sophisticated & functional piece of furniture for many years to come. And, with its simple Modernist lines, the style is pretty much timeless too. The dressing table has plenty of storage space with six drawers. It could also serve a dual purpose as a writing desk with the tabletop at 71cm high & a spacious knee hole - ideal for anyone with limited space. The mirror can be removed for use solely as a desk.
