The Pillow Case: - Hand dyed & hand embroidered in the borderlands around Tajik, Afghan & the Uzbek Surkhandarya region. - Made from a vintage Tajik suzani which has been repurposed into cushion covers - Embroidered by hand on cotton with naturally dyed fine yarn. - Bright colours depending on light. Photographed with different light sources to showcase this. - Cotton back with an invisible zipper close. - 51cm x 52 cm (20 x 20) Suzani - Suzani means needlework in Persian, & is synonymous with the embroideries of Central Asia. - The dyes are made from natural plants, such as madder, cochineal, indigo, walnut, pomegranate, & sumac, amongst others. - Due to Suzani covers being handmade, there might be some imperfections, minor sizing difference, & pen marks as the unique patterns are drawn on the cover before being embroidered. This is part of their uniqueness & charm. - Due to being vintage, there is some discolouration / spreading of the dyes. I have tried to showcase all marks in the photographs (I never edit photographs). The price is for the cushion cover only. Hand wash.
