The Cushion Cover - Handmade using sheep's wool, in Teotitln del Valle, a famous weaving village in the Oaxaca region of Mexico. - in the Nhuatl language of the Aztecs, the name of the village means 'Place of the Gods.' - Handmade by a wonderful husband & wife team who hand dye & weave all of their textiles. - The designs & patterns are heavily influenced by Zapotec symbols. - The hand dying is an old tradition which is being revived. - White muslin back with a zip close. - 50cm x 50cm (20 x 20) - roughly Natural Dying & Weaving - The dyes are made from natural plants & animals, such as zapote, copal tree, cochineal, indigo, walnut, pomegranate, perison, granada shell, & sumac, amongst others. - The body of the cushion is then woven on a peddle loom by hand, before the back is sewn on. - Due to being hand made, there might be some imperfections, & small marks. All are photographed without editing. The price is for the cushion cover ONLY. Delicate & specialised hand washing advised.
