A Georgian oak side table or lowboy with turned legs & stretcher & a freize drawer, with rectangular top, c1800. This little table is my new favourite thing, & if I had somewhere it would fit at home it would be staying with me, but sadly, I don't! It dates from around 1800. The oak has a beautiful colour & patina, & the legs are very nicely turned. There is a useful freize drawer which is lined with an old piece of (removable) lining paper. The top has signs of wear in accordance with its age, including some marks made by someone pressing into the surface (probably a child writing/drawing too hard) - I have tried to get these to show up in a photo but unless the light is hitting it just right you can't really see them. The drawer handle, although fairly old, is not the original. The table is solid & sturdy, & all in all a very nice piece of furniture.
