Lovely Prinknash pottery creamer. Mottled brown & earth tones. Stamped, Prinknash England Hand Made on the bottom. 2.875 tall 4 wide with handle Prinknash Abbey is a Roman Catholic monastery in the Vale of Gloucester in the Diocese of Clifton, near the village of Cranham. It belongs to the English Province of the Subiaco Cassinese Congregation, which is part of the worldwide Benedictine Confederation. Prinknash Abbey Pottery was founded in 1942 by the monks when they found a seam of clay nearby. Their work is typically red earthenware, often with a metallic glaze. The Benedictine monks continued to make pottery at the abbey in Granham, Gloucestershire until 1997 when the pottery was sold to the Welsh Porcelain Co.
