This extremely rare & iconic mid-century table lamp was made in the 70's in Italia, designed by Gio Ponti for Fontana Arte. Gio Ponti (1881 - 1979) was an important Italian architect, industrial & furniture designer, artist & publisher. He was one of the most influential & productive Italian designers of the 20th century. Ponti became famous for his outstanding contribution to modernist architecture & design. His works range from iconic buildings such as the Pirelli Tower in Milan to furniture design, lighting & ceramics. He was also the founder of Domus magazine, which significantly influenced the development of Italian design. His furniture has always drawn deeply from Italian traditions & givem them a modern edge. This gorgeous lamp is a perfect example of that. Made from two elements, a textured white aluminium conical base which rises into a delicate opal glass globe. On the bottom the maker's sticker is still visible. Dimension: height 44 cm Bulb is not included, it requires a standard Edison E14 screw bulb & they have a two-pin power connector that can be used with an adapter worldwide. This lamp fixture is good for European standard 220 Voltage & American standard 110 Voltage. Max. watt incandescent Light bulb 100-Watt. Conditions: in excellent vintage working condition.
