Wiking Horn Funnel Glass with the Iron Holder Historical Handblown Replica Capacity - 0.25 l , H - 8.6 inch (22cm). A glass funnel shape typical of the Viking period between 500-1050 AD ( it is hard to say exactly when ) Western Europe, Scandinavia. A large number was found during archaeological excavations throughout Scandinavia, but especially in the Swedish city Birka (former Viking trading centre). The ancient , medieval glass was made from the new potash derived from the ashes of bracken, beechwood & other woodland plants & were simple objects such as apothecary flasks, carafes, beakers & goblets with moulded & applied decoration. They appeared in a wide range of natural green & amber tints. Actual product colour & sizes may vary slightly due to product uniqueness.
