Please note the brass metal is rather thin on the base & there may well have been a sconce originally On offer is this lovely single candlestick. It's in good condition overall, the brass metal shines up well still - notable darkened tarnish in the grooves of the base decoration as well as light scuffs & scratches commensurate with age but as shown all adding to the aged charm & character of the piece. It's of traditional form, the circular base has been beautifully decorated with an attractive repetitive pattern which displays ever so well still. The central column is 'fixed' via a screw & nut fixing which shows on the underside of the base. Unmarked for a maker, circa late 19th / early 20th century. It measures a charming 7.9cm (just over 3 inches) outer base diameter, by 15.8cm (6 & 1/4 inches) in outer height - please note a candle cannot measure more than 22mm in diameter in order to fit! & the top bowl / holder piece itself measures 23mm in height.
