On offer is this lovely small antique bachelor tea set. The three items - teapot, sugar bowl & creamer / milk jug - are in good condition overall, the silver plating shines up well still - notable ware however over the teapot (both inside & out) exposing the base nickel silver (brassy tone) as well as notable small & large dents all over the teapot which catch the light; light scuffs & scratches over them commensurate with age but as shown all adding to the aged charm & character of the set. They're of traditional form, beautifully decorated with banded lines & one side of them has been engraved with owners' initials in a fancy elegant font - they appear to show Jcm. The inside of the teapot shows large darkened areas of ware & tea-staining - beneath the stubborn browning will be the base nickel silver metal. The insides of the bowl & jug in contrast shine up well still. Unmarked for a maker, English produced, circa late 19th century. The creamer / milk jug measures an absolutely charming 8.2cm (3 & 1/4 inches) handle to lip end, by 5.7cm (2 & 1/4 inches) by 4.3cm (almost 1 & 3/4 inches) in outer height. The sugar bowl measures 7.3cm (almost 3 inches) in outer top diameter by 4.5cm (1 & 3/4 inches) in height. & the teapot measures 21.5cm (8 & 1/2 inches) handle to spout end, by 11.5cm (4 & 1/2 inches) by 9.5cm (3 & 3/4 inches) in outer height to the top of the handle. A lovely vintage diminutive-sized set which despite the condition issues raised is ready to be collected & enjoyed once again! The postage quote is for a Royal Mail tracked & insured service.
