On offer is this lovely antique chamberstick. It's in good condition overall - extensive loss to the original silver plating however exposing the base copper metal (the areas of remaining silver plate create a great aged look / contrast); notable blackened marks of stubborn tarnish over the tray base as well as light scuffs & scratches commensurate with age; the handle join looks to have been repaired at some stage also but as shown all adding to the aged charm & character of the piece. It's of traditional form, beautifully decorated with an attractive grooved design which displays ever so well still. The original candle holder is present & in good order still. Also present is a silver plated snuffer which stores on the handle front - please note this is not original but of the same period & conforms well . Unmarked for a maker, Sheffield produced, circa third to fourth quarter of the 19th century. It measures 15.2cm (6 inches) in outer base diameter not including the handle - 17.7cm (7 inches) including the handle - by 65mm in height to the top of the candle holder. The snuffer itself stands 7.7cm (3 inches) in height. Please note a candle cannot measure more than 22mm in diameter in order to fit. A great looking antique chamberstick which despite the condition issues raised is ready to be collected & enjoyed once again! The postage quote is for Tracked Airmail - tracked & insured.
