On offer is this lovely antique sugar bowl & jug set. It's in good condition overall, the silver plating shines up well still - unfortunately the inside of the jug has suffered over the years with extensive darkened tarnish build-up, general & aged ware & verdigris (please refer to images); notable light scuffs & scratches over them both commensurate with age but as shown all adding to the aged charm & character of the duo. They're of traditional form, beautifully decorated with attractive border designs, feather-topped handles & shell pattern feet - the detailing is of a good standard which displays ever so well still. The jug also features an extra band. The inside of the bowl retains very very faint traces of original gilding - notable darkened specks here & there. Unmarked for a maker, English produced, circa late 19th / early 20th century. The jug measures 14cm (5 & 1/2 inches) handle to spout end, by 95mm in outer body width at widest area, by 14.5cm (5 & 3/4 inches) in total height to the top of the handle. & the bowl measures 20cm (almost 8 inches) handle to handle end, by 13.2cm (5 & 1/4 inches) in outer body width at widest area, by 12cm (4 & 3/4 inches) in total height to the top of the handles. A delightful duo which despite the condition issues raised is ready to be collected & enjoyed once again! The postage quote is for a Royal Mail tracked & insured service.
