On offer is this lovely vintage three piece tea set comprising one teapot, one lidded sugar bowl & a creamer / milk jug. They're in good condition overall, the remaining silver plate shines up well still - notable small & large areas of loss over them however (particularly to the base of the spout, makers' marks & all insides) exposing the base Britannia metal (dark grey); darkened marks of oxidation to all insides as well & light scuffs & scratches commensurate with age but as shown all adding to the aged charm & character of the set. They're of traditional form, beautifully decorated with striking floral pattern which displays ever so well still - this appears on both sides of the teapot & sugar bowl, & only on the front side of the jug. The teapot retains its original white celluloid lid finial & the sugar bowl has its original cover with matching finial. All insides have worn & darkened (please refer to images). Sheffield produced by John Turton Hand Chased, EPBM, circa second quarter of the 20th century. The creamer jug measures 11cm (4 & 1/4 inches) handle to lip end, by 8.2cm (3 & 1/4 inches) by 12.7cm (5 inches) in outer height; the sugar bowl measures 16.5cm (6 & 1/2 inches) handle to handle end, by 11.5cm (4 & 1/2 inches) by 11.5cm (4 & 1/2 inches) in outer height. & the teapot measures 25.5cm (10 inches) handle to spout end, by 13.2cm (5 & 1/4 inches) by 16cm (6 & 1/4 inches) in outer height. A lovely tea set which despite the condition issues raised is ready to be collected & enjoyed once again! The postage quote is for a tracked & insured service.
