On offer is this lovely antique sugar bowl & creamer / jug. The remaining silver plate shines up well still - notable large areas of loss however over them both exposing the base nickel silver (brassy tone) as well as extensive loss to the once gilded inside areas (notable traces remain); unfortunately the inside of the bowl shows extensive green oxidation residue build-up (please refer to images); light scuffs & scratches commensurate with age but as shown all adding to the aged charm & character of the duo. They're of traditional form, beautifully decorated with floral scrolls & elegant designs which display well still - each front side also shows a set of engraved initials in a fancy font. Both insides would've been gilded originally - notable traces remain creating an attractive contrast with the silver plate -; unfortunately both have suffered over the years with oxidation residue. English produced, circa late 19th century. The jug / creamer measures 14cm (5 & 1/2 inches) handle to lip end, by 6.5cm (2 & 1/2 inches) in base width - 5cm (almost 2 inches) top width - by 10.7cm (4 & 1/4 inches) in total height to the top of the handle. & the sugar bowl measures 21cm (8 & 1/4 inches) handle to handle end, by 9.5cm (around 3 & 3/4 inches) by 8.5cm (3 & 1/4 inches) in total height to the top of the handles. A delightful duo ready to be collected & enjoyed once again! The postage quote is for a Royal Mail tracked & insured service.
