Vintage Purinton Pottery - Small Pitcher & Creamer - Pear & Apple Design Circa 1940 Purinton Pottery small pitcher & creamer in Pear & Apple design. The pitcher measures approximately 4 1/2 tall, 5 wide from handle to tip of spout, & 4 1/2 wide at the belly. The creamer measures 3 1/2 tall & has a 2 1/4 opening at the top . The pitcher is in pretty good vintage condition with some minor crazing on the inside. There has been one small repair on the rim (a chip which was painted over - see photo). The creamer has no chips or repairs but has a fair amount of crazing throughout (heavy on the inside). The pieces are not back-stamped but are easy to recognize as Purinton pottery. If you any questions or need more photos, let us know. The Purinton Pottery company perfected making lightweight pottery that was also usable. There were 8 to 10 artisans trained by Dorothy Purinton that decorated the pottery that came out of their factory. Although they did well, the influx of cheap pottery during the 1950's from foreign imports caused their company to liquidate in 1959. All items are described with honesty to the best of our ability.
