Scallop Shell Door Knocker Antique Brass on Iron. A beautiful feature for your door in an Antique Brass on Iron finish, which over time will age beautifully. You can protect it with a finish if required. Measures approx 4/100mm Easy to fix to your door with the two screws supplied. Antique Iron is prone to weathering & rusting over time. For some, this ageing process adds to the character of the piece. However, if you wish to preserve your door knocker, we recommend painting or spraying it, or coating it with a protective lacquer. All our Antique Iron products are submitted to a five-stage hand finishing process. For authenticity, we do not lacquer any of our products, however all are loving waxed by hand in the Yorkshire Wolds. Our Antique Iron products may show light surface rust if exposed to damp environments. If necessary, this can be removed by using light oil (such as WD40) & a fine grade wire wool. Many of our Iron products will age naturally & develop their own patina over time. Should any products arrive with a residue of wax, a wipe over with a cloth is advised.
