A lovely pair of tall, barley twist 1940s dark oak & cast brass candlestick holders. I have owned these candlesicks for about 20 years & I can still remember my joy at finding them. They were handmade, turned on a lathe in the 1940s. I would think from oak & varnished. The candle cups are cast brass with a thistle motif. They have generous pan shaped bases & are covered with cork to their bases. Standing 12 tall they are quite imposing & will not go unnoticed ! Great for a mantlepiece or dining table & can be dressed up with foliage for seasonal cheer. in good condition with some wear to the varnish, as shown. Weight 542g unwrapped.
