THE ESTATE SALE FIND: Pretty Colonial Silver Company (C.S. Co.) cream pitcher ans matching sugar bowl with no lid. Classic urn shaped dark gray pewter with trophy style handles. From an estate with a large collection of antique pewter serving pieces. These are fun to collect & use as small containers needed around your home too. Wonderful still life display within a large collection. Gorgeous used in your bathroom to hold cotton balls or q-tips. Great little flower vases too - anything your can imagine! NOTA BENE: Old Pewter may contains lead. US makers only started producing lead free pewter by law beginning 1974. These should be used for display & not for food service. THE DETAILS: Circa: 1920s - 40s Makers marks: C.S. Co. P1653 with Pine Tree stamp, Pewter. (Colonial Silver Company of Portland, Maine. Operated 1897-1943. Company originated as a silver wares firm then added pewter wares around 1917 thru 1940.) Dark gray patina Trophy style handles THE MEASURES: Sugar Bowl: 2 3/4 diameter x 4 3/4 wide with handles x 2 3/4 high Creamer: 2 3/4 diameter x 4 1/2 wide with handles x 2 3/4 high Pair weighs 1lb 11oz THE CONDITION: Excellent Used Vintage. Honest wear from time & usage. Sold as found. Price reflects the following: Sugar bowl lid is missing. Heavy tarnish - I have not polished this - I leave that to you.
