I cut my models on acrylic glass ( perspex, plexiglass) & timber veneer. Each of them is unique: even when two works look similar, the small components or the embroidery will be different. I love to experiment with new beautiful thread & stitching patterns. Most of my designs look their best when exposed to intense light which creates interesting shadows. They look really good in reality but they are very difficult to photograph. I shoot them under different lights & angles & try to take the reflections proper of the material's glossy nature. This piece has been cut on sheets of cream & gold coloured Plexiglas. The smaller Plexiglas elements are stitched in/embroidered with DMC cotton yarn. It comes framed with a nice & simple IKEA Hovsta 23 x 32 cm ( 9 x 12.5 inches ) which adds protection to the artwork during the trip, but it would also look great reframed with a mat & a larger frame as shown in last pictures. & it would be fabulous hanging next to its blue sister you can see in the last photo!
