Care instructions: The lamp comes inside of the box with the shade packed upside down. When you remove it from the box (following the instructions printed on the inner flaps), you remove the plastic ring, remove the shade, turn the shade right side up & then secure it to the socket with the plastic ring again.; Clean by wiping with a soft, damp cloth. Quality control: Lamp bases are imported & upon unpacking the shipment, every single base gets carefully checked for any physical defects. Then we install a light bulb, plug it in & inspect the on-off pull chain & any other electrical problem. The lampshades are inspected 3 separate times: first after printing, secondly after being constructed into a lampshade (and the fabric trim added) & thirdly before packing into its individual box. Packaging control: Re-shippable tall lamp boxes have been developed in conjunction with the UPS testing lab for both keeping the lamps safe at & the same time making the box as compact as possible. Boxes are made of partly recycled board, they have instructions printed on the box itself to avoid printing an extra instruction sheet, & they can be re-used as waste-paper baskets. in addition, they come with a pop-up carrying handle for easy transportation.
