Description

A large serving bowl, vibrant in colour & beautifully translucent. The bowl is made of fine ceramic, & formed in a slightly flared shape, which aids ease of carrying. The blue & white colours are typical of the 'flow' glazing process & are inky dark. The slightly translucent, eggshell quality of the bowl makes the flow patterning striking from any angle. To the interior, the generous floral shapes makes the orientalist imagery more suggestive of the Art Nouveau period than traditional willow pattern designs. The bowl is generously-sized, making it perfect for serving. Alternatively, this piece is well sized for use as a fruit bowl. Measurements... Height: approx 6cm Diameter: approx 23.5cm The bowl is in good condition, with a small chip beneath the exterior lip being the only notable sign of age (please see photo).
