This vintage silver-plated bowl is a simple & elegant piece, endlessly versatile & beautifully timeless. The dish is made of moulded metal coated with silver, polished to a beautiful high shine. The bowl is deeply-scooped, with a circular foot to the base. It was most likely originally designed for use as a trinket bowl or bon-bon dish. The dish is well-sized to work as a holder for a standard tealight - the light of the flame reflects beautifully off the subtle bevels of the interior surface. Measurements... Diameter: approx 11cm Height: approx 7cm The bowl is in very good used condition, with some areas of light wear to the silver plating (please see photos). This style of candle holder was most commonly produced in the mid to late part of the twentieth century. It was made in Sheffield.
