Description

Large hand-crafted mug, thrown & glazed in the rural hills of west Wales. Fired at a very high temperature to bring out the gorgeous fusion of reds, pinks & aquamarine, with flecks of lilac; the beautiful fluid, high shine effect was achieved using a glaze incorporated with chunks of minerals & flecks of crystal. The fluid drips were achieved by applying the glaze in thick, uneven patches along the rim. This is a lovely tactile, robust mug; its thick walls will keep your hot drink warm for longer. Capacity: 500 ml Height: 10 cm Diameter: 11 cm Food & dishwasher safe. I advise handwashing for longevity, although we use soap nuts in our dishwasher as they are a gentler, eco-friendly alternative to detergents & all our ceramics have stood the test of time. All my ceramics are vegan friendly. Feel free to get in touch if you would like a mug custom-made. Commissions are welcome. Indications of the hand-crafting process are evident in all my work & a vast array of different effects may be visible in the glazing, this is part of the joy (and unpredictability!) of making original one-off pieces; slight imperfections are a part of handmade pottery & add personality. I pack my ceramics carefully using recycled & biodegradable materials. Occasionally, I may also re-use packaging to help reduce landfill waste; most of the time, everything, including the box & tape, is home-compostable.
