This 2' x 5' rag rug would look great on your kitchen, bedroom, or bathroom floor & it will be solid & warm underfoot. I wove it with cotton/poly rug warp that looks & feels like 100% cotton, but is stronger & more abrasion resistant for the best possible durability. For weft I have used an ecologically sustainable mix of recycled clothing & new fabric scraps. I have made traditional rag rugs for over thirty years. I now use a very heavy professional Glimakra rug loom. The size (10 ft wide) & gears of this loom help me apply more tension to the warp. By combining the right equipment with my experience, I have been able to achieve rugs that are woven very tight, have straight edges, lay flat on the floor. And, due to the quality of construction, Crow Hill Rugs are MACHINE WASHABLE! in addition to good structure, my rugs explore the interactions of color. I love designing color fields that create the illusions of depth & transparency. I also often work in a banded style with shapes that look sculptural. Sometimes, these shapes appear to move, like waves, across the floor. I use color to create emotional resonance. Custom orders are an option.
