Wheel-thrown vase form. This piece would look great in a living room, dining room, kitchen, entryway, or even in an office space. This vase can be used for flowers or can certainly be decorative on its own. Size: 7 tall x 5.5 wide Weight: 3 lbs This piece is made of porcelain & the crystal growth was achieved by using a crystalline glaze. Each piece made with crystalline glazes is unique because the crystals grow as they please. The first step in the process is dipping the piece in a crystalline glaze, then the piece is fired in the kiln. It is during the firing process when the crystals begin to form. You never know where the crystals will grow, how many will grow, & what stage of growth you will end up with on the finished product. Our pieces are handmade by ceramic artist & teacher, Thomas Mackenzie Brown. Thomas studied the art of ceramics during his college career & knew it was his passion early on. He has been throwing on the wheel for 43 years & is a featured artist in multiple galleries across the California coast.
