DESCRIPTION: This very pretty, gleaming, quality, original, vintage, ART DECO, ENGLISH HALLMARKED sterling silver napkin ring which dates back to 1927 is from my personal British family heritage & as such, its one & only owner from new. It was used very infrequently & consequently, is in extremely fine condition for its age. NB. THE NAPKIN RING DOES BEAR A DATE MONGRAM ON THE INSIDE, WHICH READS APRIL 26th. Being in fine condition, the ring bears a set of extremely clear hallmarks. The hallmarks include, the anchor (Birmingham assay); lion & C for date 1927. The maker's mark J R for John Rose, is also present. The napkin ring displays engine-turned decoration, typical for silver items from the Art Deco era. The outer circumference measures approx. 5 3/8 & the oval-shaped ring measures approx. max. 1 3/4 in diameter at its widest point x approx. max. 1 1/2 at its narrowest point. The ring measures approx. 1 in width. It weighs 24g. Any accessories used to display this item, such as the antique box etc. are not included in the sale. CONDITION: EXCELLENT, GLEAMING, VINTAGE CONDITION. No dings. Minimal surface wear only. This beautiful, well-shaped, 95-year old Art Deco napkin ring has genuinely had very limited use as it was bought primarily as a keepsake for the recipient at the time. As mentioned, there is a date monogram on its interior. All the above comments are commensurate with a vintage item of this age & limited use.
